How to upload data using the Development site

The following instructions detail how to navigate the DataGateway User Upload development site to upload some data.

Connection to the STFC VPN is needed to access the development site. This also includes access to the metrics here.

 

  1. Navigate to http://host-172-16-114-165.nubes.stfc.ac.uk/

  2. Click “Sign in” with username = root, password: pw. All data included on the site fabricated test data.

  3. Click on “DLS View”. Some Network Errors will be shown due to a Topcat error, these can be ignored.

  4. Click on “Investigation 11”

  5. The Investigations page will be shown along with a new “Actions” column.

  1. Clicking on the upward-pointing arrow will display the upload pop-up.

  2. Once some data has been uploaded the pop-up can be closed

  3. Click on visit 96 and the new dataset will be presented.

  4. Clicking into that dataset will show the datafiles that have just been uploaded, along with a button to allow the user to upload more files into that dataset.

  5. The process for uploading datafiles is the same as for datasets except for dataset names and descriptions are not needed.
